Additional Chapter Information and Activities
Newsletter
Chapter newsletter is published every two months. Contains chapter and general TCF information, poetry, reflections, stories, and a remembrance page honoring children in the months of their births and deaths. The newsletter is available whether or not a family attends meetings. Contact Lynn Callister at the phone number above to be added to the mailing list.
Lending Library
Extensive lending library including books, pamphlets, audio and video tapes. All are available to check out during any monthly meeting.
Remembrance Table
At each meeting, members whose child’s birthday or death anniversary falls during that month are invited to bring pictures of their child to display on this table. Special recognition will be given.
Annual Candle Lighting Program
Our chapter will host a program on the 2nd Sunday of December that coincides with The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting. This remembrance event will be held at 6:30 p.m. in The American Legion Hall (Normandy Room) in Elmhurst. If you would like your child's picture included in the evening's slide show please contact Lynn Callister.
Memorial tree and bench
Our chapter has purchased a tree and bench dedicated to the memory of our children. It is a peaceful place to visit. It can be found along the Prairie Path just south and east of St. Alexander Church where our meetings take place.
Read the Suburban Life article about the Memorial Tree.
